Fear to Free

I bet everyone has their own kind of fear(s) - fear of height or others perhaps - myself included. I often wonder how they fight those fears of theirs and how they got them. From observing the majority of them, they come from traumatic incidents. I am still in denial of having these phobias as you may say, which include socializing with others and being confident.

Socializing. It does not come naturally to me though I have quite a handful of good friends where I am from. But being born and living practically your whole life in a country, one cannot simply be able to adapt that quickly. My being a quiet and introvert kind of a person, people sometimes misunderstand that I am a serious and unfriendly kind while the truth is I am an introvert and in lack of confidence- another achilles heel of mine. I have this tendency where cold sweats break loose (stage fright) when I am called upon. Though I have performed a few concerts way back, I still can not manage to fully control my weaknesses.

How do I control them? Not letting them go wild restlessly without direction. One thing that has been helping me is telling myself that I can do it. I know that this is a pathetic thing to do. But if you keep telling your mind that, it automatically tries to manipulate your body of doing so. Another way is to give yourself time and eventually you would overcome them. Just go out there and be free.

The Way of Arts

Art is one thing that makes this world a beautiful. The nature of earth - trees, mountains, etc- is one of it. We can do so much with arts in different ways or methods with varieties of mediums. Take sculpturing as an example. What we knew was different from we know. Now we can make sculptures out of rubbish or even unwanted stuffs - in other words, recycling them. Once, we used brushes - we still do - to paint, today there is someone who vomits by drinking colorized milk and throwing up on a canvas to create an art piece.

Art is everywhere. This is true. Just notice your vicinity. The dress you are wearing, the way it flows. When the sun rises or sets. Children playing. The way the waves hit the rocks. The style of dancing, playing musical instruments or some games. The study of animals and other subjects. The way your body can arch to an unusual degree. Everything is beautiful in its own way. Take some time off and look around.

Stop and Realize

This is just my opinion

Have you ever stopped and noticed your surroundings? Saying, "Wow, what a world I'm living in". Or even asked how our world can change/ progress that fast. Rarely. That's how we as human beings are, we often take things for granted. We aren't even curious about the people outside our zone.

If we compare the world now we live in and the world before, we would be surprised of how much changes it has made. From caves as shelters to skyscraper-high buildings. From natural source of light to light bulbs. These changes were made by people from the past with many times of failing experiments and here we are just using it, not caring whether to turn off the lights, not knowing how lucky we are of what we have.

We do not realize that there's a world before ours, people from other countries who's starving, needing education, shelter and others that we have and waste. For example, children in Africa (above) are starving while we're wasting food, being picky of it even. Us not wanting to study when we could, while they can't.

Hence, once in a while stop and realize.

Young talents

A piece by a 12-year-old child, showcased at vivo city for a competition for the young to show their creativity. There were a lot of flowers arrangement displayed there and this was one of them. It's a great idea to hold this event as it can bring out the side we have never seen of the young. It amazes me how creative a young child can be.
I can see why this flower display got a gold ribbon. Despite the age of the child, she could arrange a series of flowers in a professional way. The way the colors compliment one another, not in a flashy way but in a subtle manner. The use of various shapes of flowers and I love how she used a very traditional vase made of tikar as its holder and branches as its support.
