The topic my group chose was 'Too Many Vehicles'. As we all know, nowadays, the number of vehicles production has been increasing to reach the demands of society. Vehicles play a crucial role in our lives. They transport us from one place to another and broaden our horizons (knowing cultures from different continents). And we too realize that vehicles are damaging our environment as they emits carbon monoxide and other byproducts that result in the depletion of the ozone layer causing what we are facing right now known as global warming. The term 'global warming' reflects to its real meaning, referring to an unequivocal and continuing rise of the average temperature of the Earth's system. In addition, pedestrians passing through (exposed) could also harm themselves as car exhaust induces health risks, such as lung cancer, asthma, heart disease, etc. Environmental issues aside, there are other impacts closer to us that affect our lives. For example, road traffic. The rise of vehicles in a city would definitely cause traffic jams. Take Beijing or Jakarta (or USA), there are 8 out of 10 men who own a car. Highways are being taken by vehicles on rush hours, usually 7-10 am and 4-7 pm where people gets to and off work or school. 1.9 billion gallons of fuel were wasted due to road congestion - more than five days' worth the total daily fuel consumption in the States. On the other hand, people are always complaining of road congestions and how they are going to be late when they subconsciously know that the cause of it is: too many cars.
